Congratulations to Michelle & OTCH Trek!!!

OTCH Figment's Trek to Imagination UDX3

WOW! Trek started off 2010 with a blast! He needed 23 points to finish his OTCH and he got 26 in 4 shows!

  • Brooksville, Saturday,  1st place, Utility B = 20 points.

  • Sunday, 4th place, Utility B = 1 point

  • Monday, I NQ’ed my dog

  • Ocala, Saturday, 2nd place,
    Utility B = 5 points

Trek is officially retired from competition obedience, but we might dabble in some Rally or a veteran’s class if offered at a trial. I’m so proud of my Novice A boy! Thank you to everyone at ODTC! When I moved down here to Florida I was ready to quit obedience because it was getting boring. ODTC changed all that to make it fun for both the handler and the dog. I will miss you all as I move back to Chicago, but each and every one of you has made a significant impact in my life! Thank you for EVERYTHING!!!

Congratulations to our own Deb Wood & Surge!

Surge was among the top 20 selected in the nationwide 2009 AKC Canine Partners photo contest. Deb submitted Surge's picture, taken by Mary Ann Sanford, along with Surge's story. Deb's submission to AKC included the following:

Katrina rescue, Surge, among top winners in AKC photo contest

"Plucked from Hurricane Katrina’s floodwaters, timid, little Surge entered my life and has enriched it in unexpected ways. Obedience training at the Orlando Dog Training Club gave her confidence. Her mild manner and unconditional love for people made her a natural for therapy work. Registered with Therapy Dogs Inc., Surge and I regularly visit the Orlando VA Community Living Center, where veterans engage the attentive pooch with tales about their years in the military and other things on their minds. A former castaway, Surge overcame her insecurities and routinely connects with people less fortunate."

Surge's story appears on the AKC Canine Partners webpage.
