The Orlando Dog Training Club conducted three days of trials before the American Kennel Club Classic at the Orange County Convention Center. People from 32 states, as far away as Alaska with three dogs, entered the ODTC trials. Unsurprisingly, 68 Florida dogs were entered during the preshow trials.
On Wednesday, December 13, 2017, ODTC had 103 dogs entered, 18 golden retrievers and 10 border collies. All together out of 120 entries, 81 qualified. All of the dogs in Rally Master, Preferred Novice, and Rally Novice A and B qualified.
Golden retrievers led the pack on Thursday as well with 20 entered, followed by border collies at 16 and Labrador retrievers at 10. Of the 187 competitors, 115 qualified, including all of the dogs in Rally Novice A & B, Rally Advanced A and Rally Excellent.
German shepherd dogs came in third among Friday’s entries, following golden retrievers and border collies. Of the 150 entrants, 109 qualified, including all in Novice B, Rally advanced A, Rally Excellent A and Rally Master.
ODTC thanks all of the people who volunteered to make the event a huge success.
Many club members and those who train at ODTC participated not only in the ODTC trials but also the Classic competition.
